Abnormalities of the axial skeleton, including the neck, are one of the most important sources of lameness in all types of horse and pony. In addition they can be responsible for changes in performance, behavioural problems, and neurological abnormalities.

This course is designed to help veterinarians to gain the very latest ideas on the aetiology, identification, treatment and prognosis of the common problems of the neck in the horse and pony. Extra time will be available after lectures for discussion and delegates will be encouraged to interact fully with tutors in the case based and open discussions.

In addition, there will be imaging quizzes with computer voting, practicals on radiography and ultrasonography of the neck, and tutor lead live and video examinations of clinical cases, and how to perform a neurological examination.

• Conditions of the neck leading to pain
• Conditions of the neck leading to neurological signs

Afwijkingen aan de hals van paard en pony kunnen zorgen voor veranderingen in prestaties, gedragsproblemen, neurologische afwijkingen en kreupelheid. Deze cursus is bedoeld om dierenartsen bij te praten over de meest recente ideeën over de etiologie, de identificatie, behandeling en prognose van de meest voorkomende problemen aan de hals van paard en pony.

Deelnemers kunnen op een interactieve manier met de docenten discussiëren. Daarnaast zullen er praktische sessies zijn over echografie van de hals en het injecteren van de nekfacetgewrichten.
